Do the floors in my house ground me if I'm barefoot?
It depends on the floor type!
NOT GROUNDED:
- Wood floors
- Vinyl floors
- Glazed tiles
- Unfinished tiles applied over wood, plywood, plastic, or vinyl understructure and/or tiles adhered with a petrochemical bonding material
GROUNDED:
- Unsealed concrete floors built directly on the Earth (polished is fine)
- Unsealed stone built directly on the Earth (polished is fine)
- Unsealed/unpainted tile attached without a petrochemical bonding material to a concrete slab that is built right on the Earth
